I'll add a note.

It does answer questions, because it sounds otherwise like scratchbox works fine.  So you say when you try to create a project / build / run / etc. in ESbox you still have problems?  Is your scratchbox under /scratchbox?  (If not, edit the path in ESbox > Scratchbox 1 settings.)  

If that still fails, then what shell do you use for /bin/sh?  (Just grasping at straws here...)  And could you send the error log containing info about the processes that failed to launch (Windows > Show View > Other > Error Log, and then Export Log)?

It should succeed and post an info to the error log ("Starting up Scratchbox 1 > Ran '/scratchbox/sbin/sbox_ctl [re]start").

In any case, file this one soon if it happens a lot.  We'll poke around for a fix and forward it to the upstream project.
