[Esbox-users] ESBox with Pydev 1.5

Hi Stephan,

We have to stick with Eclipse 3.4.2 and Pydev 1.4.4 through the 2nd edition release (end of this month, we hope). After that, though, the mainline can move to Eclipse 3.5, and a new Pydev could be incorporated too.

Probably the update sites don't work since our distribution has a custom (very slightly modified) version of Pydev included, which is not installed the same way it would be from an update site.

But if you want, you could try using the direct Pydev 1.5 download and extracting it into the "dropins" folder and see how that works. You could be a guinea pig ;) Pydev develeopment moves quickly, so it's likely we'd need to make some changes to adapt to the new version. It would be nice to know what issues you have :)

Subject: [Esbox-users] ESBox with Pydev 1.5

Hi everybody,

just a quick question: are there any plans to move ESBox to Eclipse 3.5 and (more importantly, to me) Pydev 1.5? The latest Pydev version has incorporated all the functionality of the old Pydev Extensions. This would be a nice productivity gain for Python developers. I was not able to replace the stock Pydev with Pydev 1.5 using the pydev.org Eclipse update site.

Cheers,
Stephan
