Hi Jerry,
Sorry to bother you, but I'm encountered with a critical problem when using esbox to CREATE a Maemo C Project.
I installed Esbox on Windows 7 and successfully got scratchbox & Maemo SDK running in a VMWare Ubuntu image. I used NAT in VMware. And I successfully passed the Build Machine Validation process. That means the shared folders worked as well, right?
[[[ejs]]] Yes, the tests should have validated that the shared folders worked, too.
Whatever project location I entered in the textbox, the dialog just kept telling me
"The host path '(LOCATION LISTED BELOW)' is not visible in target Scratchbox 1 [DIABLO_X86].Be sure a shared folder mapping is defined."
Here are the locations I have tried so far:
D:/esbox/workspace/helloworldmake (I have mounted this folder to ubuntu at /mnt/helloworldmake)
\\MAEMO\scratchbox\users\maemo\home\maemo\workspace
/mnt/helloworldmake
//192.168.137.128/mnt/helloworldmake/<http://192.168.137.128/mnt/helloworldmake/>
scratchbox\users\maemo\home\maemo\workspace
After so many failed try, I've no idea how to solve it, I think there are some experienced users here and come for advice. Thank you in advance!
[[[ejs]]] Sorry that this UI is a bit confusing. The path you enter in the New Project dialog should be a Windows path, so the first one is the closest to being right. (The intent is to hide the Linux-ness of the build environment as much as possible.)
But the mount on the Ubuntu side must be inside /scratchbox, otherwise Scratchbox cannot "see" it.
The "shared folder mapping" in the error message refers to the Window > Preferences > ESbox > Build Machines > Shared Folders tab. There should be a mapping there mirroring whatever shares you have configured. We recommend using the default mappings since they allow multiple Scratchbox 1 SDKs to use the same folder.
Note that the shared folder does not have to be the same as the workspace or project location.
Hope this helps!
[[[ejs]]] -- Ed
