Hi Stanley/David

I've bcc'ed you as I don't think you're on the email list yet.

We've been busy with Mer and have been making sure the SmartQ 5/7 devices are
fully supported. We have started to talk with people about getting the code
integrated into the mainline kernel and that's going well; a SmartQ7 patch has
just been posted on our mailing list for review.

We are currently working on the XAA acceleration and video support and I think
we have a breakthrough there too.

A new release of Maemo will be available soon and we've been busy making sure
that we are ready for that - we are hoping to make some real improvements to the
UI look and feel.

We have a few areas we'd like to follow up on:
* MMC
There has been some discussion of MMC problems causing the internal MMC to
become corrupted. Did this commit:
http://gitorious.org/mer-smartq/mer-smartq-kernel/commit/112a485fecdaeabe2b5fc7c1eea0832d2da26c0d
fix that or is there still an issue?

* We would like to do q5/q7 runtime distinction detection - can you suggest the
best way to do this? (GPIO pin, SoC system ID, ARM ID, EEPROM, ...?)

* Power consumption in Mer is not very good; any ideas?

* Is there dynamic CPU voltage scaling? We'd like to understand how the
freq/voltage scaling works.

* How can we power the device off from SW.

* Could we get schematics and/or a list of used electronics and their GPIO
connections/I2C addresses/datasheets/... for the Q5 and Q7?

We want to stay in touch as much as we can so we would also be delighted if
you'd join the Mer-discuss mailing list (copied) which will be for more
technical issues around Mer and allows us to include and support people who
don't use irc as much.
see: https://garage.maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/mer-discuss
for joining details.

David
