Hello,
I have the impression that one major task of Mer is porting opensource
pacakges from Maemo to Ubuntu and replace/add some applications if better
one available. If I understand correctly, I'd like to know if all Maemo 5
packages/apps are available in Mer now. (I haven't figured out where to find
maemo package list) Are we going to build binary package repository to
support Mer specific packages installation?
As Mer is based on Ubuntu, will we upgarde when Ubuntu upgrades? As for
9.10, seems the Ubuntu default ARM build is for ARMv6 or above with VFP
support, which is for ARMv5 w/ or w/o VFP now for 9.04. If we upgrade and
want to use Ubuntu ARM binary packages directly, does it mean we are
following this change?
The UI style of Mer is different than Maemo 5 as I can tell. What I read
from another email thread is that seems when Maemo 5 releases, Mer will get
UI refresh/upgrade too. Will it be a more maemo5-like UI?
Thanks.
