Hi all,
First: feature-wise, this newer kernel doesn't have all drivers working
(yet) compared to the older + the code is a WIP, so bugs may arise
Second: I need (power-)users/developers with a SmartQ5 and an SD card to
test my 2.6.33 kernel.
What you should look at is whether the LCD is inited correctly, other
then that there isn't much difference between the Q5 and Q7.
If you can read the messages emitted on the LCD (or have UART), could
you tell me whether the bluetooth stick that's soldered on the USB host
port is found (there's no bluetooth support compiled in this kernel)?
Also, in an ideal situation, no kernel panics should happen; if they
occur though, please report back to me.
Attached is a 7z archive containing binaries of the Qi bootloader, the
kernel and a kernel compatible for being uploaded using SMDK-tools.
For booting from SD, you can follow Roberto's instructions at
http://alone-in-the-light.zenvoid.org/2009/06/boot-smartq-5-from-sd-card.html
Copy zImage to /boot/linux-SMDK6410.bin and run Qi (don't plug the USB
cable in your MID, otherwise USB boot will start!).
If you want to try booting over USB, get SMDK-tools, compile it and run
smdk-usbdl -f output.dat (if you have UART->serial converter, you can
see the Qi debug messages).
To people that don't trust binaries, you can always compile from source
yourself:

(WIP branch, if you want a .config mail me)

edit Makefile to do -DSMARTQ=5)
