Hi

No much news today.

Just made 'mbootstrap' script mentioned in yesterday's mail to reliably
create a chroot (with maemo5 packages) such that apt works inside.

Plans for next steps:
- make system created by mbootstrap (maemo5 packages only) boot into X11
and run osso-xterm,
- make system created by mbootstrap (maemo5 packages only) to provide basic
phone functionality,
- replace some maemo packages with debian packages (start with libc6 and
coreutils) and keep basic phone functionality still working.

As for the rest of maemo5 - I think best way is to will create a set
of "task" packages that install different parts of original firmware.

About "package namespace" thing: I still think that "main namespace" should
be in debian side, and maemo5 packages should be renamed, unless we may be
100% sure that maemo5 and debian package is different packaging of the
same. However more analysis is needed here.

Yes I know mbootstrap must be placed into git and developed there - but
please not now, too tired :(. So attaching current snapshot again :)

Nikita
