Summary: OMWeather doesn't work with proxy on N900 |
Detailed description |
Hi,
I have a data plan limited to HTTP/HTTPS which uses a proxy. Everything works fine in many applications and in
web browser.
When trying to do an update using 3G, I've got a HTTP error, and no configured city is updated. If I switch to Wi-Fi,
it works fine.
I've done a tcpdump trace on gprs0, which shows me traffic to weather.com servers on tcp port 80. If I try to load google.com
in browser, I have traffic to my operator's proxy on port 8080, which is intended.
Hardware : Nokia N900
Software : Maemo 5 PR 1.3
OMWeather version : 0.28.7
Best regards,
N-Mi. |

I've fixed in version 0.28.9 of Omweather. Please check up it.

I checked the source code of omweather (from last SVN trunk rev).
I see that there is code that fetch proxy parameters in gconf
before fetching XML data from weather.com.
I used conftool in terminal to check my system settings, here
is the output :
~ $ gconftool-2 --get /system/proxy/mode
manual
~ $ gconftool-2 -R /system/http_proxy
use_http_proxy = true
port = 8080
authentication_password =
use_authentication = false
host = 195.115.25.129
ignore_hosts = []
authentication_user =
All of this is fine (this matches parameters expected by omweather)
and omweather should use my proxy settings, but it's not.
How can I do further tests to help fixing this issue ?
Regards,
N-Mi. |
