Detailed description
The clock statusbar applet is nearly invisible (black on black)! The color of the clock should be adjustable!!!

Why not have a control panel for the clock (the way there's an
"extras" control panel for statusbar graph), and in
that control panel, let the _user_ select the text color?

http://mg.pov.lt/statusbar-clock-0.6-detect-color-3.diff is an
updated version of the patch that makes switching from dark to
light themes (and vice versa) easier: tap on the clock and it
autodetects the theme colour and redraws itself immediatelly.

Will there be a new version to allow a user to select a text
colour?

Fixed patch:

My patch has a bug: it assumes the string returned by gdk_property_get
is null-terminated, which is not necessarily true.

A slightly better patch is at

I have a patch that fixes this (by autodetecting the statusbar
colour in a rather hacky way).

I see no way to attach the patch to this bug report. You can
find it here: http://mg.pov.lt/statusbar-clock-0.6-detect-color-2
.diff

Precompiled packages are in my Bora repository (http://mg.pov.lt/770

You have to activate the statusbar applet in your
"navigation" tool!

german layout:
System -> Steuerung -> Navigation -> Statusleiste ->
statusbarclock

english layout:
Tools -> Control panel -> Navigation -> Status bar ->
statusbarclock

And if you are using the standard black theme you will also have
to use the analog clock!

Yeah, I am aware of the problem. The problem is, that the Gtk-Theme
does not contain sensible text colors for text on the statusbar.

As a workaround I right now can only recommend to switch the
clock-application to analog mode, this gets picked up by the
clock applet - and the analog clock is visible.
