Summary: docs: issues with shared folder setup |
Detailed description |
The docs are still confusing. These points should be addressed:
-- Show how to set up shares in Windows and MacOS with screenshots.
-- And remember to specify permissions for such shares so the one holding projects can be written.
> "You must manually configure file sharing yourself". Just asking how does it sounds if we add some screenshot
how to do this? R-M-C on top of folder,
> select properties and sharing...also one should remember to add write permission to shared folder..
-- Clarify the easiest way to set up a share (Add Share from VM, etc). There are still references to manual setup in
the docs.
> First document says that "You need to add entries for those shares, e.g., using "Add VM
Share""
> Then it describes that create shares inside vm server (shares exist in ready made image) And third point says that
use "net use in windows".
>
> *But all you need is esbox, "Add VM Share" and press validate button (seems that apply is not enough
to execute net use command or??) if you know what
to fill in.
> Local Share=No, Mount automatically=Yes, Remember add some free drive letter for mount path.
>
> My point here is that all needed info is there but no one simple example what is enough for default user.

There is a new document "shared_folders.html"
(esbox.garage.maemo.org/2nd_edition/shared_folders.html) which
covers these issues.
