Summary: Generates bad code for Python 2.5 |
Detailed description |
The upstream version of Pyrex does not generate correct C code for Python 2.5; unfortunately, that's the version of
Python you're shipping.
Patch from Fedora to fix Pyrex:
http://cvs.fedora.redhat.com/viewcvs/devel/Pyrex/pyrex-python-2.5.patch?rev=1.1&view=auto
This issue has been reported to the upstream mailing list, but there hasn't been an upstream release for quite some
time.
Other instances of this bug, for reference:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=406025
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=221342
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pyrex/+bug/79534
This causes strange failures in python-dbus.
If python-dbus is the only reason you provide Pyrex, you could upgrade python-dbus to >= 0.80 and drop Pyrex completely.
That's not without issues though (I'm about to file a bug against python-dbus explaining those). |

Patch applied in Pyrex module. Will be available in the next
Pymaemo release. We are not using a new python-dbus because Maemo
uses an old dbus version. |
