While playing a podcast, try locking the touchscreen and keys. At least here playback is stopped and the position is
set back to the beginning.
Maybe this is supposed to be a feature but makes it unusable on the go...

I expect everyone is experiencing this one, but I think in normal
use you'll find locking pauses, unlocking resumes from the same
point. The position only seems to reset to the start of the track
if you have seeked either before pausing, or whilst paused, then
use the d-pad button to resume (albeit accidentally when unlocking
the device). I've just logged this as bug 1860:

Also, you'll find that if you pause using the screen pause button,
then attempt to lock the device using the two button method,
the playback will resume as you lock - it basically acts just
as if you pressed the d-pad button in normal usage.

It seems like it pauses because the second key pressed to lock
is the same key pressed to pause. The workaround I am using is
pausing the podcast, then locking. This way it starts playing
when I lock.

I could reproduce this. One workaround for now should be touching
the "OK" button instead of the hardware key.
